Job Overview:
As an Elementary Homeroom Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering Alberta curriculum lessons in all core subjects (ELA, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Health) to your homeroom students. This role involves fostering a positive learning environment, implementing differentiated instruction through innovative teaching practices, and actively collaborating with colleagues and parents to support the holistic development of each student.

Key Responsibilities:
-Plan and deliver Alberta curriculum lessons in all core subjects (ELA, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Health) to your homeroom students, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
-Establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment.
-Use English as the exclusive language of instruction, implement differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
-Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
-Maintain regular and effective communication with parents regarding student progress, activities, and school events. Foster strong partnerships with parents to support the holistic development of each student.
-Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
-Integrate technology to enhance instructional delivery and learning experience.
-Order supplies, assess maintenance needs, and assist in room assignments.
-Collaborate with other teachers to ensure a cohesive and integrated curriculum.
-Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
-Attend staff meetings as required.
-Contribute to the organization and participation in school events, field trips, and other related activities.
-Contribute expertise and passion to After School Activities (ASAs), actively participating in planning and facilitating engaging extracurricular programs for student enrichment and holistic development.

Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Education degree.
-Alberta teaching certification (for information, visit ).
-Relevant teaching experience in elementary education.
-Strong understanding of child development, educational psychology, and effective teaching methodologies.
-Ability to maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Demonstrated passion for fostering a love of learning in elementary students.
-Knowledge and application of strategies for meeting diverse learning needs.
-Adaptable, innovative, and committed to continuous improvement and student success.
