Job Description
With nearly 900 member companies, the membership team is responsible for regularly communicating with companies and individuals to understand member issues, recruit and renew members, and carrying-out AmCham China’s mission to help American companies succeed in China. The Membership Department intern will assist the membership team to connect with, recruit, and maintain AmCham China’s members. The intern will learn about a variety of functions, including sales, marketing, event organization, and database management. The role offers a great opportunity to help AmCham China continue to play a positive role in contributing to this critical relationship.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting membership team to increase engagement with AmCham China members
- Assisting membership team with IT and database infrastructure
- Organizing community networking events
- Analyzing membership data to identify at-risk members and other engagement trends
- Developing industry-specific pipelines to identify non-member company targets
- Supporting membership team with contracts, invoices, and other administrative tasks
- Supporting Membership Coordinator with membership issues related to issuing membership cards and finance
- Researching and developing technological tools to improve member experience
Qualifications
- Good command of English
- Good command of Mandarin
- Enrolled at accredited institution in either:
- Marketing
- Business Administration
- Political Science
- Public Relations
- International Relations/Business
- Other relevant degree programs
- Be enrolled in a school program during internship
- If offered the internship position, the intern must obtain a stamped permission letter from the university acknowledging that the student has accepted the internship position
- *Be able to commit to interning for at least three months (12 weeks) and be able to come into the office at least three days a week (days can be split into mornings or afternoons to accommodate class schedules)
- Intermediate to advanced PowerPoint, Word, Excel skills is a plus
- Growth mindset with interest in learning about sales
- Interest and experience with technology is a plus
- Above all, a team player with a keen interest in learning
