Laboratory Introduction
The Artificial Intelligence Medicine (AIMedicine) Laboratory at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) is dedicated to applying advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to solve real clinical problems and promote research and technological innovation in the healthcare field. Due to the growing demand for research and project development in the laboratory, we are now recruiting postdoctoral researchers. We welcome talented individuals interested in the interdisciplinary field of artificial intelligence and medicine to join our team.
The team leader, Professor Chi Ho Ban Tsui, is the Executive Associate Dean and Associate Dean for Clinical Innovation and Translational Research at the School of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). He is ranked among the top 2% of scientists globally and holds prestigious titles, including Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and Fellow of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Full Professor Stanford University and Presidential Chair Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). Professor Tsui focuses on clinical innovation and translational research at CUHK (Shenzhen), aiming to apply AI technologies to the medical field to enhance healthcare efficiency and quality. Job Description
Applicants should have:
1. Possess a Ph.D. in a related field from a renowned domestic or international university, with a doctoral graduation date no more than 3 years ago.
2. Be under 35 years of age and available for full-time postdoctoral research work, with a typical duration of 2 years.
3. Hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field, including but not limited to artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, or data science.
4. Have extensive research experience and a strong scientific background, with a deep understanding of cutting-edge technologies in AI, machine learning, and deep learning, as well as a solid foundation in mathematics and statistics.
5. Possess strong academic writing skills and the ability to publish high-level research papers; preference will be given to candidates with experience publishing in top international academic journals.
6. Be interested in the application of AI in medicine, although a background in medical knowledge is not required.
Job Duties include:
1. Leading and driving research projects: Responsible for leading and advancing innovative research on artificial intelligence in the medical field, exploring related applications.
2. Project planning and execution: Fully responsible for the overall planning, execution, and progress management of research projects, ensuring the achievement of project goals.
3. Guiding the academic team: Provide guidance and academic support for doctoral and master’s students in their research work, and cultivate future research talents.
4. Team collaboration: Play a leadership role in interdisciplinary teams, working together with team members to advance research projects.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
1. A contract with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), entitled to benefits under the current labor laws of Mainland China.
2. Postdoctoral living subsidies from Shenzhen City: Postdoctoral researchers can receive up to 180,000 RMB per year in living subsidies. Postdocs from universities ranked in the global top 200 will receive a living subsidy of 300,000 RMB per year. After completion of the postdoctoral period, additional related subsidies may be available. For more details, refer to the “Shenzhen Postdoctoral Work Management Regulations” published on November 17, 2023.
3. The supervisor will provide additional living allowances and support qualified individuals in applying for various talent programs, along with the corresponding benefits.
4. Opportunities to apply for the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and national, provincial, and municipal technology projects.
5. Postdoctoral researchers can settle in Shenzhen, and their spouse and minor children can apply for residency. Children may attend affiliated kindergartens and primary and secondary schools of CUHK (Shenzhen).
