Job Description

Tourism,
Hospitality, Event Management (THEM) is seeking a candidate with expertise in
the domain of tourism and hospitality management, preferably with the
background in the MICE sector.  The
candidate will be expected to deliver courses in the areas including, but not
limited to, event planning, exhibition design, MICE management, cultural and
heritage tourism, and other tourism and hospitality related courses.  

Job Requirement

All applicants should hold a PhD degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management with a solid track record in research in a related discipline.  Successful candidates are expected to commit to excellence in teaching.  Proficiency in English is required as English is the medium of instruction in THEM.  Preference will be given to candidates with MICE background, and with demonstrable ability to undertake independent research leading to outcomes with a strong impact, such as publication in high quality, internationally recognized, indexed journals and scholarly presses.  Academic rank will be determined in accordance with successful candidate’s experience and accomplishments.

Appointment Terms

Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
