Job Description
The program of Media and Communication Studies (MCOM) at UIC invites applications from practitioners with recent and relevant experience in journalism and/or digital media production. There are opportunities to develop innovative pedagogy and contribute to the professional and academic development of the University’s nationally recognized portfolio in Communications.

Job Requirement
All applicants should hold at least an MA in media-related fields with a commensurable industry profile. Other requirements include a firm commitment to teaching and mentoring students. Teaching responsibilities of 2-3 courses per semester may include courses related to convergent journalism, copyediting, multimedia production, digital post-production, photography, and others of the applicant’s own interests. Preference will be given to candidates who also have teaching experience and a willingness to undertake original and collaborative research leading to high-quality outcomes.

Appointment Terms
Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
