Job Description

The Cinema and Television program is seeking candidates in one or
more areas of both film production and film studies, capable of instructing courses including Directing, Cinematography, Film Producing,
Sound Recording and Mixing, Color Grading, Photo Imaging, Film Editing, Special Effects, Production Design, Virtual Production, Film
History, Film Theory, Film Culture, and more. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a creative practice or research
while teaching, managing, supervising, facilitating field trips, tutoring and caring for both UG and PG students.

Candidates should
have a Ph.D. or at least a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree with teaching experience in a related discipline. Successful candidates are
expected to be committed to excellence in UG or PG teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have professional experience in
entertainment or media, e.g. working in film and/or media industry and having professional credits and industry connections. The candidate
should be cooperative, patient, and enthusiastic.

Proficiency in English is required. English is the medium of instruction in the
Cinema and Television Program. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and research
accomplishments.

Candidature:

Qualifications/ Education

Essential

· Preferably a PhD in Film Studies, Media Studies, or Game Studies

· At least an MFA in any areas of Film Production

Desirable

· Membership
of relevant professional bodies.

· Postgraduate qualification in Teaching and Learning in the Higher Education or equivalent
professional bodies.

Skills/ Training

Essential

· Ability to
teach Directing, Cinematography, Film Producing, Sound Recording and Mixing, Color Grading, Photo Imaging, Film Editing, Special Effects,
Production Design, Virtual Production, Film History, Film Theory, Film Culture, etc.

Desirable

· Proficient in the following software/applications: Premiere Pro, AVID, Pro Tools, Da Vinci Resolve.

· Stay
informed about advancements in industry equipment.

Experience

Essential

· Preferably three years of teaching experiences in higher education
institutions.

· Having experience in course/program/curriculum design/development.

· a minimum of five years of
experience in the film industry to instruct film production.

Desirable

· Proved
experience in management and administration.

· Evidence of working with external institutions (industry or academia).

· Sustained PhD completions.

Language Skills

Essential

· Proficient in English.

Desirable

· Proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Essential

· Passion for student care and
mentorship.

· Collegiality, teamwork, patience.

Desirable

· Passion in
promoting programs and facilitating student admissions.

Benefits
and Appointment Terms

Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits

The Cinema and Television (CTV)
Programme, founded in 2006, was developed in conjunction with and modelled after the curriculum of the Academy of Film of Hong Kong
Baptist University, the largest and most important of its kind in the region. The CTV programme aims to nurture a new generation of
