Job Description
The taught postgraduate programme – Film, TV & New Media concentration (FTNM) is seeking candidates with teaching interest and key research strength in one or more of the following subject areas. The position possesses a strong commitment to teaching the following subjects:
Script Writing and Analysis; Media Arts; Media Aesthetics; Law, and Film, Television and New Media; Promotion, Advertising and Distribution for Film, Television and New Media; Financial Management for Film, Television and New Media; Multimedia Management; Media Programming and Planning; Film Production; Media and Culture.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a creative practice or research while teaching, supervising, facilitating field trips and student activities, and caring for postgraduate students.
Job Requirement
• Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a related discipline, or at least a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree with sufficient teaching and industrial experience in a related discipline/ a Master’s Degree with sufficient teaching and industrial experience in a related discipline.
• Proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is required.
• Candidates should be cooperative, patient, and enthusiastic.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have at least three years of teaching experience in higher education institutions.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have professional experience in entertainment or media, e.g. working in film and/or media industry and having professional credits and industry connections.
• Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in postgraduate teaching and research.
• Academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and research accomplishments.

Benefits and Appointment Terms
Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Appointments to these positions will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
