Job Description
Laboratory Introduction
The supervisor of the research group, Prof. Dong Liu, is an Assistant Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at The University of Western Ontario. After returning to China, he served as a Research Assistant Professor at the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and joined CUHK-Shenzhen in 2025. The research group currently focuses on utilizing multi-source geographic datasets—including GPS trajectory data, mobile sensing data, street view data, remote sensing data, and land use data—to investigate urban mobility, location accessibility, travel behavior, physical activity, and environmental health through geospatial analysis methods.

Job Description
Applicants should have:
1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Science, Computational Social Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields;
2. Demonstrate proficiency in both English and Chinese;
3. Be proficient in spatial data mining and analysis skills, especially with experience in GPS trajectory data processing, mobile signaling data, street view image segmentation, and Natural Language Processing (NLP);
4. Candidates with relevant research experience and first-authored publications in relevant SCIE/SSCI journals will be given priority.
Job Duties include:
1. Mining, collecting, visualizing, and analyzing data;
2. Preparing and drafting relevant manuscripts;
3. Performing other related tasks as assigned.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Salary will be comparable to international standards, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK-Shenzhen regulations.
