Job summary
To provide overall curriculum leadership within the school, and be the main point of contact on LifePlus curriculum development initiatives. To work alongside the school leadership team in developing goals and strategies for professional development of all staff as aligned to the school strategic plan. This role involves leading teams in supporting teachers attending LifePlus Curriculum Review and facilitating the selection of instructional materials and equipment, linking teachers to resources or to develop programs. It requires meeting with principals and LifePlus Director of Student Learning and Director of Adult Learning to clarify curriculum and professional development needs and align the school curriculum to LifePlus Standards and curricular units, meeting with teachers for curriculum mapping. Additionally, this role also needs to mentor new teachers, supervises for student teachers and interns, and carries out other duties requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications and requirements
Has a Master’s Degree in Education with 4 year teaching experience. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research of learning. Demonstrates ability to work with sensitivity to unique and multicultural perspectives. Possesses excellent leadership and organizational skills. Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
