About Role

A Senior School Music Teacher is an exciting role, with shared responsibility for supporting an inspirational Music curriculum, and developing high standards of teaching and learning at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi.  This person will be responsible for supporting children’s achievement and wellbeing in Music, and will support initiatives that enhance student outcomes.  They will be a positive ambassador for change, and will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Creative Arts faculty.

As a pioneer of Music Education in the Senior School, you will provide excellent teaching and learning in order to ensure a high quality education for all students. You will be a model of excellence, and support colleagues generously to perform to the best of their ability. You will uphold the school values, and put children’s wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.   You will be responsible for promoting high expectations of an inclusive setting, with equality of opportunity for all, and where each child is valued and feels safe and cared for.

Post-holder Qualifications, Experience

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

Qualifications

  • Graduate qualified teacher
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area
  • Master’s degree an advantage
  • Additional qualification demonstrating a high level of musicianship
  • Minimum of Grade 6 ABRSM piano skills or equivalent required

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the area for which you are applying
  • Successful experience in working with students in KS3, KS4 and IB Diploma
  • Demonstrated experience in inspiring students in a stimulating learning environment
  • Previous experience in an international school and familiarity with British education system
  • Experience in teaching EAL students preferred
  • Experience of working in a high performing school
  • Ability to analyse student data and promote student achievement
