Job Description
The College of Tourism and Foreign Languages of Shanghai Tourism College was formed by the merger of the former Department of International Tourist Guide and the University Foreign Language Teaching and Research Department of the Basic Teaching Department. The college has the teaching department of Tourism English, the teaching department of Tourism Japanese, the teaching department of Applied Korean, the teaching department of Applied Spanish, the teaching department of Air Crew, and the teaching department of University Foreign Languages which undertakes the task of teaching public foreign languages to all the students of the college.
The English Translation and Tourism Guide Specialization of our college is the first translation and tourism guide department in China’s institutions of higher learning, and the Japanese Translation and Tourism Guide Specialization was opened in 1985. In the twenty-first century, in order to adapt to the changes in the development of the tourism industry, a major in Applied Korean was added in 2006, a major in Applied Spanish was added in 2009, and a major in Air Crew Service was added in 2020.
At present, there are 50 teachers in the college, mainly in foreign languages.
