We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position in the nuclear astrophysics group at the Department of Physics, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). The position is under the supervision of Prof. Jie Chen and Prof. Weiping Liu, and is expected to start in September 2025. The initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year, depending on funding availability and mutual agreement.Our group conducts research in diverse areas, including astrophysics, cosmology, dark matter physics, nuclear astrophysics, quantum sensing, machine learning, gravitational waves, and particle theory and experiment. Faculty members include Professors Weiping Liu, Jie Chen, Sebastian Garcia-Saenz, and Christina Gao. The group maintains strong collaborations with the China Jinping Underground Laboratory and other large scale facilities in the fields, as well as quantum research institutions in Shenzhen and other cities. Located in Shenzhen, one of China’s major cities and a hub for innovation, SUSTech is a leading research university offering an exciting scientific environment and a vibrant cultural experience.
Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a related field by the start date. Candidates with expertise in one or more of the group’s research areas and strong analytical or numerical skills are encouraged to apply.
