Child protection and safeguarding are important and sensitive matters in all international settings, irrespective of social and cultural contexts. DSC has safeguards in place to ensure the staff we recruit go through a rigorous evaluation of credentials and background checks.
All staff involved in recruitment have up-to-date Safeguarding training.
New staff will be asked to provide at least a police check from the countries they have taught in and a letter of good standing from their teacher registration authority (if applicable)..
Teachers applying for a position at DSC must provide 2 to 3 referees with at least one being their most recent supervisor.
DSC will conduct a pre-interview reference check based on schools/positions listed on the CV.
Teachers recruited from Canada must be registered with the teacher registration unit from the province where they received their teacher registration and OCT.
All new staff will be required to submit a “DSC Safeguarding Self-Disclosure Form” before the interview. The form will be updated and reviewed annually. The form will only be reviewed for candidates who successfully pass the interview stage. The form will be reviewed before an employment offer is made.
