Job Description

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor jointly held in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy and the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care (Ref.: 517200), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in health, health services research or relevant disciplines, with an outstanding track record of both publications and competitive research grants. They should demonstrate an interest and potential in teaching. They should also have an excellent command of spoken and written English, knowledge of medical statistics, and proficiency in advanced statistics software. Preference will be given to those who are competent in health services research in primary care, analysis of big clinical data, and evaluation of chronic disease management. The appointee will be responsible for developing research programmes on health and primary care services. He/She will undertake teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and contribute to service and administration in the Departments and the Faculty.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
