Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref: 530570)
Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref: 530570), to commence on September 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
The Department of Social Work and Social Administration has five research clusters carrying out cutting-edge research in evidence-based Clinical Social Work Practice, Mental Health, Population Studies, Ageing, and Arts Therapy. All these are geared towards the promotion of wellbeing for all. We have a competent team of professoriate and teaching staff and researchers working on a wide range of social work issues for different target groups. Applicants should possess (i) a PhD degree in social work or a related field; (ii) proven research and publication records in areas such as family social work, youth work, community work and social policy; and (iii) demonstrated experience in collaborating with practitioners and (iv) a shared vision for promoting individual and family well-being. Strong quantitative and/or qualitative research expertise is essential. Knowledge of the local context with more than five years of experience as a registered social worker would be advantageous.
The appointee is expected to be research active and collaborate with colleagues both at the University level and internationally. He/She will also be responsible for teaching courses and supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as contributing to the administration of academic programmes. What We Offer
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
