Job Description
Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the broad area of Computational Molecular Biology in the Molecular and Cell Biology cluster, School of Biological Sciences, The University of Hong Kong (Ref.:530459), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Direct tenure may be offered to outstanding and qualified Professor/Associate Professor candidates.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in a related discipline and have a strong record of research accomplishments in the broad area of Computational Molecular Biology, with research programs that will synergize with current strengths within the School of Biological Sciences such as molecular imaging, cancer biology, plant biology, microbiome, and biophysics. Applicants should also have a strong interest in teaching with a commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and mentoring graduate students, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. This appointment provides an outstanding opportunity for research and teaching collaboration across a broad range of disciplines.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
