Job Description

Applications are invited for joint appointments as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences (SKL), to commence on August 1, 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. The appointment rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms subject to approval.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, Human Neuroscience, or related fields. To apply for Assistant/Associate Professor, candidates should have a strong research record with publications in leading academic journals and a good record of success in competing for external grants. To apply for Professor, candidates should also demonstrate international leadership in the respective research fields, in addition to a proven track record of impactful research, publications, and external grants. 

The appointee is expected to develop an excellent research programme and be responsible for teaching courses and supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
