Job Description
Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor (several posts) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 516770), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Exceptionally outstanding candidates may be considered for appointment on tenure terms.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in behavioral sciences; community medicine and public health practice; epidemiology and biostatistics; health economics, policy and management; kinesiology; laboratory sciences; or other public health related disciplines. They should demonstrate (i) proven ability to produce quality research, publications in high quality international journals, and evidence of regional and international recognition for scholarship and professional expertise; (ii) ability in undergraduate and postgraduate education and research; (iii) participation in Faculty and University affairs; and (iv) capability in knowledge exchange (KE) activities, and leadership in professional education programmes or community engagement.
The appointees are expected to strengthen the School’s research, teaching and KE programmes in public health medicine, and facilitate innovative and effective ways to integrate clinical medicine and public health practice into population health research. They will contribute to the development and delivery of teaching programmes of the School (i.e. BASc in Global Health and Development and Master in Public Health), and the medical and health science courses of the Faculty. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
