The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for a one-year contract in the position of Visiting Senior Instructor in Portuguese-Chinese Translation/Interpretation.
Qualifications
Applicant must possess an MA degree in Portuguese-Chinese Translation/Interpretation or Portuguese Language and Culture or in a related area although a PhD degree in one or more of these areas is highly preferable. Applicants should have extensive experience teaching Portuguese-Chinese Translation/Interpretation and Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language at university level and have native or near-native fluency in the Portuguese language. A good command of English is highly desirable.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2023.
Remuneration
A taxable monthly remuneration starting from MOP42,315 (approximately USD5,224) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
