Event Overview:

To all undergraduate students current studying life sciences or biomedical-related degrees, we are excited to announce that applications are open for the tuition-free Westlake University ‘Frontiers of Life Sciences’ International Undergraduate Summer School 2025. The 2-week program will be held from July 23rd to August 6th 2025 at Westlake University Yungu Campus in Hangzhou, China, and bring together the brightest minds from across the world to learn from and share cutting-edge life science research and innovations.

Eligibility:

The 2025 summer school is open to undergraduate students in their junior or senior year who are majoring in biology or life sciences related fields.

Eligible candidates are required to complete an online application form and attach any requested documents.

 

Application Deadline:

The deadline for applying is May 11th at 24:00 (midnight), China Standard Time (CST).

 

Tuition & Expenses:

The program is tuition-free. Accommodation will be provided on-campus and you shall be given a daily meal allowance. Westlake University will reimburse domestic students for second-class railway seats between domestic cities, and economy class flights up to a value of 5,000 RMB for international students. Materials required for visa applications will be provided by the program organizers.

Westlake University is a new type of non-profit research-oriented university supported by public and private funding. The predecessor of Westlake University is Westlake Institute for Advanced Study. Founded by scientists including Yigong Shi, Shiyi Chen, Jianwei Pan and Yi Rao, Westlake Institute for Advanced Study was established in Hangzhou on December 10, 2016.
