Basic Requirements

Zhejiang University (ZJU) is seeking full-time team members who are deeply passionate about education. Ideal candidates are dedicated to lifelong learning, exhibit a proactive attitude towards collaboration, and possess a strong appreciation for the unique culture and values of ZJU.

Categories of Positions

1. Global Distinguished Educator（part-time）

To be eligible for the Global Distinguished Educator (GDE) program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

（1)  Have a good understanding of Chinese culture and values, and align with the spirit and core values of Zhejiang University.

（2）Have made outstanding academic achievements and possess significant international academic influence.

（3）Be recipients of prestigious awards in medicine and life sciences, including but not limited to the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Lasker Award, Gairdner Award, or Shaw Prize in Life Sciences and Medicine—or be academicians in major developed countries. Alternatively, candidates may be full professors from top universities or leading disciplines, scholars working at prominent international organizations, or individuals who have received prestigious teaching awards or published best-selling textbooks.

GDE fellows will receive compensation at an internationally competitive rate. The amount will be determined based on their teaching experience and workload.

2. Qiushi Chair Professor

We are seeking scholars who have distinguished themselves with notable achievements and have earned extensive recognition from international peers. This includes Nobel Prize laureates, Turing Award winners, Fields Medalists, or recipients of similar prestigious international accolades. We also welcome members of the Academies of Sciences or Engineering from developed countries, as well as other globally renowned scholars.

3. Qiushi Distinguished Scholar

We are inviting applications for prestigious positions including Qiushi Distinguished Professor, Qiushi Distinguished Professor for Teaching, Qiushi Distinguished Clinician, Qiushi Distinguished Engineer and Qiushi Distinguished Scholar for Think Tank. Ideal candidates should hold a full professorship (or equivalent) at a renowned university. For the position of Qiushi Distinguished Clinician, candidates are typically required to hold both professorship and chief physician roles. The age limit is no older than 55 years. Specifically, for those applying for the Qiushi Distinguished Professor for Teaching, Qiushi Distinguished Scholar for Think Tank and introduction of talents in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, the age limit is no older than 59 years.

4. Tenured Professor /Tenured Associate Professor

Applicants are expected to be permanent faculty members at high-level universities recognized both nationally and internationally. Tenured Professors should reach the level of tenured professors at leading universities while Tenured Associate Professors should reach the level of tenured  associate professors at prominent universities.

5. Clinical Professor

Applicants are expected to be high-level clinical experts or leaders in their disciplines, possessing exceptional clinical diagnosis and treatment skills. They should be capable of enhancing both the domestic and international influence of their fields, as well as advancing the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and complex diseases. Candidates are typically required to hold both chief physician and at least associate professor titles.

We are also seeking applicants for research positions. Candidates should generally have a medical education background and currently hold a position as a professor or tenured professor at a high-level university anywhere in the world.

6. ZJU100 Young Professor

Applicants are required to hold a doctorate from a globally renowned university. Ideal candidates should currently hold a position as an assistant or associate professor (or an equivalent role) at an internationally recognized university known for its academic excellence. We are seeking exceptional individuals who stand out among their peers, demonstrating the capability to independently establish and develop research directions. These candidates should exhibit the potential to become academic leaders in their respective fields. The age limit is typically around 35 years old for natural sciences, with some flexibility for humanities and social sciences (in principle, no older than 40 years).

7. ZJU 100 Young Clinical Professor

Applicants must hold a doctorate from a globally renowned university, holds a physician qualification certificate,  and possess extensive academic training experience. A-class positions: candidates should generally be no older than 45 years and hold positions as Chief Physician or Deputy Chief Physician. Applicants must have achieved significant and outstanding results in clinical diagnosis, treatment, and research. B-class position: generally no older than 40 years, with outstanding academic level and potential for development .

8. Clinical Distinguished Fellow/ Clinical Distinguished Associate Fellow

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree and be in good physical and mental health. The specific criteria for each position are as follows:

• Clinical Distinguished Fellow

Age: No older than 40 years

Experience: Must have postdoctoral work experience or substantial scientific research training experience

Academic Level: Equivalent to a Researcher at a high-level university in China

• Clinical Distinguished Associate Fellow

Age: No older than 37 years

Experience: Must have significant scientific research training experience

Academic Level: Equivalent to an Associate Researcher at a high-level university in China

9. Postdoctoral Researcher

We are seeking applicants no older than 35 years who have recently earned a doctorate. Ideal candidates should demonstrate excellent personal qualities and academic performance, possess significant potential for academic development, have an international outlook.

10. Clinical Medicine Postdoctoral Researcher

We are seeking applicants  no older than 32 years with a strong educational background in clinical medicine or dentistry and an international outlook. Eligible candidates include:

Domestic Graduates: Recent graduates from an eight-year program or doctoral graduates who have earned a Doctor of Clinical Medicine (Stomatology) degree between August 2024 and July 2025.

Returnees: Individuals who have obtained a doctoral degree in Clinical Medicine (Stomatology) within the past three years.

11. Research Fellow

Age: Candidates should no older than 38 years. Those with senior professional titles or working in the fields of humanities and social sciences may be eligible no older than 40 years.

Education: Must have recently earned a doctoral degree from a globally recognized university.

Qualifications: Ideal applicants will demonstrate excellent personal qualities and academic performance, significant potential for academic development, an international perspective, and the ability to commit to a full-time role at Zhejiang University (ZJU).
