Sichuan Tourism College is the first full-time undergraduate university in China named “Tourism” and sponsored by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province. It is the first full-time undergraduate university named “Tourism” in China, approved by the Ministry of Education in 2013 and established by the merger of Sichuan Higher Institute of Cuisine and Sichuan Agricultural Management Cadre College. In September 2021, the university was selected as the fifth batch of national non-traditional representative project protection units. The school adheres to the orientation of “local and application-oriented”, clearly defines the idea of “one main line and four persistent”, shoulders the historical mission of “strengthening tourism and serving the country”, continuously deepens the education and teaching reform, inherits the excellent Chinese tourism and culinary culture, and cultivates applied talents to adapt to the economic and social development.

The main campus is located at 459 Hongling Road, Longquanyi District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, covering an area of 672,000 square meters (1,008 acres). The school has concentrated scenic spots such as Emei, Qingcheng, Jiuzhai, Huanglong, Minshan, Minjiang River, Leshan Buddha and Dujiangyan into the campus, and has built a national AAA-level tourist attraction—Leisure Food Culture Park, forming a unique pattern of campus in the scenic area and scenic area in the campus, with seamless connection between classroom and real scenery. Culture and tourism complement each other. The school has 10,080 full-time students, including 9,294 undergraduates. There are 14 secondary colleges, including College of Culinary Arts, College of Food, College of Hilton Hotel Management, College of Sports and Leisure, College of Tourism and Culture Industry, College of Economics and Management, College of Information and Engineering, College of Foreign Languages, College of Arts, College of Health Industry, College of Big Data and Statistics, College of Continuing Education, College of Marxism, College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Among them, Hilton College of Hotel Management is the second college in the world established by our university in cooperation with Hilton Hotel Management Group. The school offers 28 undergraduate majors in culinary and nutrition education, food science and engineering, exhibition economics and management, hotel management, leisure sports, tourism management, building electrical and intelligent, landscape architecture, business English, logistics engineering, etc., covering seven disciplines, including management, engineering, literature, science, education, art and economics. At the same time, the school also offers specialties such as Chinese and Western cooking and golf.

The university library has more than 1.07 million paper books and 700,000 electronic books, and has purchased 29 comprehensive databases, thematic databases, examination resources, electronic books, dissertation testing and other kinds of database resources covering all disciplines and majors of the university; it has built a wired-wireless integrated 10 Gigabit campus network.

There are 823 faculty members, including 475 full-time teachers, 225 of whom have associate or senior titles, accounting for 47.37% of the total; 412 teachers have master’s degrees or above, accounting for 86.74%; 228 teachers are “double-teacher and double-competent”, accounting for 48%.
